It doesn't seem to be faded - the colors on the spine are about the same as those on the front panel. The jacket is clean, uncreased and has remarkably little visible wear - just a tiny bit at the lower spine tip (no missing paper). The code number (SBN) "20497" (in black) is on the lower right edge of the rear panel. The lower corner of the front flap has a small, neat price-clip (I don't think the printed price has ever been a real point of issue - the Book Club editions seem to bear this price as well) and the Book-of-the-Month Club blurb (green) is on the lower edge of the rear flap, and not at the top of the front one (in red) - this is a crucial point for the correct jacket. The dustjacket is first issue with the lower front flap reading: "Fifth Avenue from 34th to 14th - is enchanted". It does NOT bear the BOMC deboss on the lower rear cover. A near fine book (very close to fine) with a thin strip of slightly faded black cloth at the lower spine tip and a tiny bit of rubbing to the upper textblock edge, else fine: straight, clean, crisp, tightly bound and sharp-cornered. First US edition, first printing ("First Printing" - stated on the copyright page). Jacket Design by Vincent Ceci (illustrator).
